In the early 1980's two gardening friends Elizabeth Fielding and Nancy Schlosser decided that the town of Wilmot needed its own garden club. With a few members and a lot of determination, the club was formed. In 2018 a decision was made to seek federal nonprofit status with the IRS obtaining it in February of 2019.
