WGC Annual Meeting and Dahlia Talk

On Sunday afternoon September 27th, from 1-3pm the WGC will host a Dahlia Program given by our own Master Gardener Linda Colgan. Linda will cover year-round care of these favorite posies. The WGC Annual Meeting will follow right after the talk. The event will be held at the WCA, 64 Village Rd in Wilmot Flat.

2026 Scholarship Winner Announced

On July 11, 2026, in front of dozens of Farmer's Market attendees and a group of Wilmot Garden Club members, the winner of the 2026 Walter Kangas Scholarship was announced. Rose Patrick accepted a certificate and check for $1,000 from the Wilmot Garden Club to defray costs related to her university education.

In addition to the scholarship presentation, we had a tent at the farmers market with activities for kids (rock paining, seedling giveaway) as well as a "Ask a Gardener" table where the public could ask questions or share gardening experiences. The market was well attended and our tent was well received.

Plant Sale 2026

WGC's fabulous volunteers helped us host a very successful plant sale on Saturday, thank you!

It didn't hurt that we had a big beautiful tent from Kearsarge Tent Rentals LLC with windows and

sides and gorgeous plant material from Jolly farmer to sell.

Lisah Carpenter and Laura Blundo did a great job leading the effort to put together this

multifaceted event. A big thank you to them for all the hours they put in!

Winter Seed Sowing for Native Plants

On February 21, 2026, the Wilmot Garden Club hosted “Winter Seed Sowing for Native Plants” at the WCA. In spite of the snowfall the day before the event, a good time was had by all. Master Gardener Donna Miller of Petals in the Pines explained the incredible benefits to wildlife provided by incorporating some native perennial plants into our gardens. After the presentation Donna expertly guided us in preparing and planting native seeds in containers to place outside to germinate.

Bench Dedication

Members of the Wilmot Garden Club celebrated Margaret’s memory on Saturday, October 18, 2025 by gathering at the Wilmot town green to share stories on that gorgeous Fall day, then gathering for a catered lunch at a nearby garden club member’s home.

It was lovely to be with John, daughter Emily, son-in-law Rick and grandson Matthew. A good number of the Monto’s friends joined us as well making the occasion quite an enjoyable tribute to our good friend.
